摘要
Diabetes mellitus (DM) prevalence is rising. Nurse practitioner (NP) students must enter practice ready to implement current treatment guidelines in practice. This quality improvement project aimed to increase NP students' knowledge and confidence for managing patients with DM by implementing an educational intervention. The intervention entailed 6 educational sessions led by a preceptor during morning huddles in a primary care clinic. Outcomes were measured by comparing pre-and postintervention survey item means. NP students' knowledge and confidence increased across multiple DM management topics. Novel educational interventions delivered in clinical agencies by precepting providers may help increase NP students' practice readiness.& COPY; 2023 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
