Improved Deadbeat Predictive Control for MMC Based Flexible Multi-State Switch

In recent years, modular multilevel converter based flexible multi-state switch (MMC-FMS) has been used to achieve flexible power optimization among different grids. In order to improve the dynamic performance of traditional vector double-loop control, an improved deadbeat predictive control suitable for MMC-FMS is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the mathematical model of MMC for FMS single-terminal converter station is established. Based on the discrete mathematical model with Tustin method, the improved deadbeat predictive control algorithm is derived. Finally, the simulation is carried out under different application scenarios of MMC-FMS. The results show that the proposed control strategy can effectively simplify the inner current loop control of FMS, improve the system dynamic performance and current tracking accuracy.
