Photonics-enabled biorthogonal Hartley architecture for image-reject mixer with high image rejection ratio

摘要
A photonics-enabled biorthogonal Hartley architecture for image-reject mixer with high image rejection ratio is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. By introducing the biorthogonal structure based on microwave photonics, the power imbalance and the phase inaccuracy of the balanced Hartley structure can be effectively cancelled, and the image rejection ratio will be effectively improved. A proof of concept experiment is taken. The image-reject ratio of 79.48 dB is achieved based on the photonics-based biorthogonal structure. As compared with the balanced Hartley structure, 29-dB improvement with the image rejection ratio is realized.
