Using Fulkerson-Ford Algorithm for UE - AP Association in mmWave Cellular Networks.

The use of mmWave frequencies is expected to be one of the most promising technologies deployed by future cellular networks, due to the high available bandwidth they can provide. Moreover, access points (APs) deployment in such networks is expected to be quite dense in several cases, such as urban areas, hot spots etc., where also a large number of users will be located in a confined area. Thus, specific APs may be overloaded and due to finite available bandwidth, a number of users (UEs) will not be served. In this work, we propose the use of Fulkerson-Ford algorithm (FFA) for UE-AP association and bandwidth allocation. Specifically, FFA is exploited to maximize the number of served UEs of a given network by optimizing bandwidth utilization. The efficiency of the proposed model is verified via an extensive simulation campaign.
