Preliminary Exploration of Incorporating Industrial Software Curriculum into University Software Engineering Education.

Culturing industrial software talents is an urgent issue in China. Currently, there is no systematic education program from the perspective of discipline standards and feedback from the industry. Based on the specific conditions of the current domestic university software engineering education and industry, combined with the preliminary exploration in the education and industry circles, the authors propose a competency description plan and three types of curriculum design for university teachers and industry professionals to collaborate in cultivating industrial software talents. The competency specification is based on the CC2020 competency model, the knowledge, skills, and disposition requirements for the effective and efficient completion of industrial software-related tasks. The first type of courses is culturing abstract thinking skills integrated with existing software engineering courses. The second type of courses is specialized courses related to industrial software, including theory and ability practice. The third type of courses is based on problem and project learning. Students practice knowledge and skills to solve problems and complete projects, develop interdisciplinary collaboration capabilities, and improve and adjust their dispositions.
