摘要

•The role of aluminum on the carbonation behaviors of C-S-H was revealed.•Aluminum has a marginal effect on the carbonation resistance of C-S-H.•The uptake of aluminum by C-S-H did not markedly change the carbonation products.•The formation of aluminum and calcium modified silica gel was found.
