•Atractylodin ameliorates the pulmonary function in bleomycin-induced pulmonary.•Atractylodin reduce the inflammatory response in mice treated with bleomycin.•The formation and deposition of collagen were inhibited by atractylodin.•Atractylodin alleviate pulmonary fibrosis may through the TGF-β1/Smad2/3 pathway.
