Use of 3D-printing cerebral aneurysm model assisting microcatheter shaping in neurovascular intervention technique training

•A new training method and assessment system with the 3D printing model for microcatheter shaping in coil embolization of cerebral aneurysms were described.•The patient-specific aneurysm models were printed in two forms: a solid polylactic acid model for shaping reference and a soft hollow crystal silicone model for shaping validation and assessment.•The accuracy of shaping was evaluated by the instructors and scored according to the designed criteria.
