摘要

•Patients with orphan disease were easily overlooked during the COVID-19 pandemic.•We investigated the challenges of patients with spinal muscular atrophy.•The hospitalization and intensive care unit stay rate were significantly higher in type I patients.•This is the first large evidence-based survey on patients with spinal muscular atrophy in this context.
