Clinical profiles of individuals with orofacial clefts: Results from fourteen Eastern African countries.

•More than 85,000 patient records from fourteen Eastern African countries were analyzed in this study to describe orofacial clefts.•The proportion of orofacial clefts was higher among males, accounting for 62% of all cases.•The mean age for primary correction of orofacial clefts in east africa was near to nine years old.•To improve cleft care in East Africa, there is a greater need for evidence-based implementation of programs, research collaboration, and data-centric advocacy efforts.
