Multi-drug resistant gluteal abscesses due to Mycobacterium abscessus following medical tourism for cosmetic purposes to Mexico.

This is the case of a 34-year-old Russian female who travelled to Mexico and had gluteal hydrogel injections which were infected by a difficult to treat Mycobacterium abscessus. This case highlights the need for patients to carefully consider potential risks of cosmetic medical tourism and clinicians to promptly address complications.
