Incidental renal lesions are often encountered on low-dose lung cancer screening (LCS) CT, and up to 66% of renal masses <4 cm are discovered incidentally [ 1 Nguyen M.M. Gill I.S. Ellison L.M. Radiology. 2003; 226: 756-761 Crossref PubMed Scopus (600) Google Scholar ] detected four renal cell carcinomas (RCCs) (0.9 per 1,000 screens) and 63 indeterminate renal masses (14.2 per 1,000 screens) in their prospective LCS cohort study.
