Chiral Discrimination of Nitrile Compounds Using a F-19-Labeled Palladium Probe

This study presents a F-19-labeled cyclopalladiumprobefor the rapid discrimination of chiral nitriles in pharmaceuticals,natural products, and agrochemicals. The probe binds reversibly tochiral nitriles, generating distinct F-19 nuclear magneticresonance signals for each enantiomer and enabling quick determinationof enantiocomposition. The method allows for simultaneous detectionof seven pairs of enantiomeric nitriles and application in assessingthe enantiomeric excess of an asymmetric C-H cyanation reaction.
