Simultaneous TT and CND is a risk factor for hypoparathyroidism. The reoperation is not associated with hypoparathyroidism. Identification of parathyroid glands and preservation of their vascular pedicles are key factors in managing hypoparathyroidism. PPHE can forecast the risk of permanent postoperative hypoparathyroidism well.
