Applications of bond-based cohesive peridynamics method (CPDM) to simulate inelastic fracture of stiffened plates in ship hull structures

•We have successfully applied a recently developed cohesive Peridynamics method (CPDM) to simulate the fracture of stiffened plates in ship hulls.•We demonstrate that cohesive Peridyanmics can capture both brittle and ductile failure of the stiffened plates.•We have successfully used CPDM to calculate the structural stress intensity factor of the stiffened plates with different stiffeners and girders.
