In-vitro and in-vivo antimicrobial activity of Citrullus lanatus prolamin hydrolysates

•Prolamin hydrolysate of C. lanatus rich in amino acids serve as good source of nutrition.•The hydrolysate of the prolamin from C. lanatus exhibited remarkable antibacterial action against Gram-negative infections.•The prolamin hyrolysate of C. lanatus shows potential role in eliminating P. aeruginosa in the animal model.
