Intelligent optical management for energy-efficient windows driven by mechano-thermochromism

The SiO2-VO2-PDMS-driven by mechano-thermochromism intelligent optical management system is proposed to overcome the problem of conventional thermochromic windows with a single ability to modulate the solar spectrum. The design can achieve continuous tuning of the solar spectral transmittance by the deformation of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), which can meet the need for thermal comfort in different seasons.
