Continuous precipitation of antibodies using oscillatory flow reactor: A proof of concept

•Mixtures of PEG and ZnCl2 are effective to precipitate of human IgG from serum.•Batch precipitation is optimal at 14% PEG 6000 and 4 mM ZnCl2, pH 7, allowing a 99% recovery of the antibody with 89% removal of impurities.•Continuous precipitation in an oscillator flow reactor was described for the first time for the purification of antibodies under a residence time of 7 min.•Antibody secondary structure preserved according to circular dichroism spectroscopy.
