Secular change in the nature of mantle and tectonic evolution of northwestern margin of the Yangtze Block during Neoproterozoic: Constraints from the mafic intrusions and associated granitoids of the Hannan and Xiaomoling complexes

•Continental arc magmatism in NW Yangtze Block initiated at ca. 900–880 Ma.•Alternating contractional and extensional regimes during 880–800 Ma indicate accretionary orogenesis in NW Yangtze Block.•Middle Neoproterozoic rift-related magmatism may superimpose on magmatic arc.
