Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) of the Thalamic Ventral Intermediate Nucleus (Vim) for Essential Tremor (ET) treatment is the gold-standard. Good outcomes have been described when the target focuses on the dentatorubrothalamic tract (DRTT) using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) (1,2). The further the stimulation is from the DRTT, the less effective is the therapy (3). In this study we compared the volume of tissue activated (VTA) for ET control between DRTT DBS and classical indirect targeting Vim DBS.
