摘要
Infertility is a lifetime crisis among the married couples globally, and it leads to emotional turmoil and distress. It becomes silent struggle, and tremendous changes take place in terms of experience and psychological reactions. Challenges in assessing distress among the couples are more prevalent. Sense of hopelessness and helplessness is common, and prior to assessment of distress, treatment plan is difficult to formulate. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) changes negative thoughts and beliefs related to infertility and reshapes maladaptive behavioral patterns in the situation. CBT improves the coping strategies to deal with difficult situations and improves planning toward future implications and treatment. Formulation of CBT can be based on symptoms focused, and it becomes more efficacious in improving the mental health of the patient.
