摘要
•Active schistosomiasis is associated with haematological changes in travellers and migrants.•These differences seem to vary among disease stages and Schistosoma species.•Full blood count (FBC) differences were discrete and inhomogeneous, hence unfit to develop a scoring system.•The FBC seems unsuitable as a reliable surrogate diagnostic parameter to detect schistosomiasis.
