Research on the distribution of S species in the pressure oxidation leaching process of SrS solution

•The pressure oxidation process was used in treatment of SrS solution. It confirmed that less H2S was emitted, and a high conversion ratio of S0 was obtained in the pressure oxidation process.•The pressure oxidation process of the SrS solution was systematically researched, and the optimum oxidation conditions for S0 generation were summarized experimentally.•The distribution of oxidation products were analyzed.•The mechanism of pressure oxidation of SrS solution was discussed.
