摘要
Scopoletin is a chemical compound of coumarins group, occurs in medicinal plants used by the people traditionally for various domestic as well as livelihood purposes. During the course of present study, scopoletin was extracted from the roots of Girardinia diversifolia. The plant, commonly known as Himalayan Nettle, grows extensively in Middle Himalayas. The isolated compound extracted from the roots of Girardinia diversifolia using LC-MS (Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy) methods. Analysis of compound using LC-MS technique revealed peak value at 193.13 with expected chemical formula of C10H8O4. Single component analysis, instead of UV, IR and NMR spectral data procedures, was used to determine scopoletin in the plant. The presence of scopoletin in Girardinia diversifolia has been reported for the first time from the root.
