•Supreme DES was noninferior to durable polymer EES at 12 months.•Preclinical studies show Supreme DES achieves early endothelial restoration, which may be of benefit in ACS.•Supreme DES had similar rates of TLF in patients with ACS and CCS at 12 months.•Supreme DES had similar rates of TLF to durable-polymer EES irrespective of ACS or CCS presentation.
