摘要
Regular physical activity (PA) and reduced sedentary behavior (SB) are associated with health benefits and a greater life expectancy in cystic fibrosis (CF) patients. This retrospective cohort study aimed to investigate whether tezacaftor-ivacaftor-elexacaftor had an impact on daily PA levels and SB in patients with CF. 18 CF patients participated in the study. PA, SB and lung function data were measured with accelerometry (for 7 consecutive days) and spirometry respectively. Routine clinical assessments were at baseline (T0), 1 month (T1), 3 months (T3) and 6 months (T6) after receiving treatment. Paired sample t-test was used to show differences, in the lung function and PA data, between T0 and the different measurements (T1, T3 and T6). Mean Forced expiratory Volume in 1 s (pFEV1) significantly increased in all measurements compared to T0 (68.4%): +9.8% at T1, +13.4% at T3 and +10.8% at T6. Forced Vital Capacity (pFVC%), significantly increased from T0 (88.2%) to T1 (+5.8%) and to T3 (+7.4%). Mean PA and SB values at T0 were: 46.8 ± 35.0 min/day of moderate to vigorous PA (MVPA) time and 570.2 ± 80.2 min/day of SB time. None of the parameters presented statistical differences throughout all the measurements, compared to T0. Mean MVPA time (min/day) was 36.2 ± 15.6 at T1, 44.7 ± 31.5 at T3 and 61.4 ± 15.0 at T6. Mean daily SB time was 531.9 ± 133.3 at T1, 571.1 ± 186.5 at T3 and 525.8 ± 41.2 at T6. Our findings emphasize that daily PA levels and SB of CF patients do not improve after triple modulator treatment. However, our patients already achieved the recommended daily PA goal of 30 minutes of MVPA. This may be explained by the fact that a trainer in adapted PA accompanied them. Therefore, our results highlight that, despite being under modulator treatment, CF patients still need to be supported and encouraged to be physically active and that PA promotional programs are important to achieve or keep an active life reducing SB in CF patients.
