Effect of OR51E1 single nucleotide polymorphisms on glioma susceptibility in the Chinese Han population

•There was a significant association between the OR51E1 gene polymorphisms and glioma risk.•The polymorphism rs10768148 and 10,500,608 was significantly associated with an increased risk of glioma.•The SNP rs7102992 of OR51E1 was associated with a significantly increased susceptibility to glioma in patients over 40 years of age.•There are strong synergistic interactions between polymorphism rs74052483 and rs10768148.
