Effects of resin tapping on ectomycorrhizal fungal community composition and structure of Pinus massoniana in subtropical mountain forest ecosystems in southwestern China

•Resin tapping (RT) is an important method of certain subtropical pines forest management.•RT has potential effects on soil microbial community in P. massoniana plantation.•RT obviously alter EMF community composition and structure, but no significant difference in the alpha diversity.•AK, TN, and Urease are important factors influencing the EMF community in P. massoniana plantation.
