Behavioral outcomes and exposure to perfluoroalkyl substances among children aged 6–13 years: The TEDDY child study

•Reported associations between PFAS exposure and deviations in children's behaviors are contrasting.•Child PFAS concentration was influenced by tap water consumption and breastfeeding duration.•As exposure indices, we considered risk PFAS exposure factors and childhood PFAS concentration.•We found positive associations between PFAS exposure and behavioral issues among school-age children.•Longitudinal cohort studies can help to better understand the complex dynamic between PFAS exposure and behavioral outcomes.
