Rationale: The metabolic effects of the etonogestrel (ENG)-contraceptive subdermal implant have been studied in normal weight women; however, there is scarce information in overweight and obese women. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the anthropometric, lipid, hepatic, inflammatory, and hormonal profiles of overweight and obese women users of the ENG-implant.
