Improved electrochemical performance and chemical stability of thin-film lithium phosphorus oxynitride electrolyte by appropriate fluorine plasma treatment

•Fluorine plasma treatment is used to incorporate fluorine into thin-film LiPON.•Appropriate fluorine treatment has negligible effects on the electrolyte morphologies and amorphousness.•Fluorine incorporation improves both the electrolyte performance and stability.
