Comparison of Two Generations Valiant Thoracic Aortic Stent Grafts and Their Impact on Aortic Stiffness in an Ex Vivo Porcine Model

•Aortic stiffness increases cardiovascular risk and is quantified by aortic PWV.•Thoracic aortic stent graft deployment has been shown to increase aortic PWV, but intergenerational differences remain unknown.•This porcine ex vivo study did not find a significant difference in the percentage increase of aortic PWV for two generations Valiant thoracic aortic stent grafts.•Future thoracic aortic stent grafts should aim to improve device compliance, without losing adequate seal and strength.
