摘要

•Modified magnesium slag (MMS) and unmodified magnesium slag (UMS) were compared.•MMS has the properties of not powdered, not expanding, high activity and stability.•The sources of activity and cementitious properties of MMS and UMS were studied.•MMS as filling cementitious materials can reduce the environmental impact of UMS.
