Anisotropy and macro porosity in wet sprayed concrete: Laminations, fibre orientation and macro pore properties measured by image analysis, PF test, water penetration and CT scanning

•Macro pores were measured by PF, image analysis and CT scanning in sprayed concrete.•Macro pores were non-spherical and orientated towards parallel to the substrate.•Fibres in sprayed concrete align towards parallel to the substrate.•Water penetration was measured to be higher perpendicular to the spraying direction.•Hence sprayed concrete is an anisotropic material.
