摘要
•Slip transmission at grain boundaries is characterised by SEM and EBSD at early stage of deformation.•A strain gradient crystal plasticity finite element model is developed.•Criterion for slip transmission is determined from experiment and compared against CPFEM simulations.•Effect of slip transmission on flow strength and deformation localisation are evaluated using CPFEM model.
