The evaluation and treatment of acute anterior circulation occlusion stroke with high clot burden: Progressive stratified aspiration thrombectomy vs. stent retriever thrombectomy

•Base on mechanical thrombectomy, PSAT technique was explored to treat patients with AIS-LVO.•It is clinically feasible to take thrombus length into account and assess clot burden based on DSA.•It is safe and effective to treat high clot burden AIS-LVO patients with PSAT, which has better reperfusion rate and prognostic outcome than SRT.
