摘要

•The Ru/W18O49 with abundant oxygen vacancies (OVs-rich Ru/W18O49) was prepared.•The OVs-rich Ru/W18O49 exhibit better NH3 synthesis activity by hydrogen spillover.•The hydrogen spillover effect was verified by DFT and characterization.•OVs promote hydrogen spillover by modulating the binding force between N2 and H*.
