Assessing Syrian women's knowledge of breast cancer risk factors, warning signs, and barriers to preventive measures: A cross-sectional study

•Since 2011, millions of Syrians have been displaced from their homes and have sought refuge in other countries or within Syria.•The conflict has also had a significant humanitarian impact, with many Syrians facing shortages of food, water, and medical care including patients with cancer.•Women with higher educational level scores for knowledge of risk factors and symptoms.•Women with chronic diseases had higher scores for knowledge of risk factors.•Only 16.4% of women expressed strong confidence in seeing any change in their breasts.
