摘要
There is considerable variability in human and non-human individuals in the ability to rein in urges towards immediately available high gains and adopt more adaptive strategies that maximise reward in the long run. Deficits in decision-making and impulse control are commonly observed in neuropsychiatric disorders such as Substance Use Disorder or pathological Gambling, thereby suggesting that individual differences in decision-making may represent a key endophenotype of vulnerability to neuropsychiatric disorders.
