Experimental study on dynamic response of pile-supported wharf under wave and ship berthing collision

•Wave flume experiment of pile-supported wharf considered wave and berthing loadings.•Response of wharf-ground, single pile-ground, and free field shows different features.•Distribution of scour pits, acceleration, and bending moment reveals pile group effect.•Soil response near single pile induced by impact is greater than that of free field.
