Child, teacher and preschool characteristics and child-teacher relationships in Greek preschools

•We investigated child-teacher relationships in a collectivistic culture, Greece.•The analytic sample included 2,130 children in 267 pre-schools.•Modelling of predictors on closeness, conflict, dependency of the student-teacher relationship.•Dependency and closeness were positively, not negatively associated.
