Multi-organ dysfunction in infants with acidosis at birth in the absence of moderate to severe hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy

•Two thirds of brain spared asphyxiated infants have extracranial organ failure.•The most common organs systems to be affected are respiratory and hepatic system.•Coagulation system is more affected in infants with deeper acidosis.
