摘要

•Plasma-catalytic conversion of CH4 and CO2 into alcohols was achieved.•The effect of Cu-based catalysts in alcohol production was investigated.•The redox capacity and valence state of Cu are critical for alcohol production.•Increasing Cu loading changed the main alcohol from methanol to ethanol.•5 wt% Cu/Al(OH)3 exhibited the highest selectivity of alcohols (∼38%).
