摘要
Journalists and psychologists claim that we are more narcissistic than ever, especially when we started to make extensive use of social networks and digital tools. They are probably wrong: social networks and other digital tools don’t increase our self-love but amplify our quest for the approval of others. René Girard’s theory contradicts psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud by stating that digital users are not narcissistic but pseudo-narcissistic, opening a new era of pseudo-narcissism.
