Image Watermarking Scheme using a Fractional-Order Discrete-Time Chaotic System

This article proposes a new image watermarking scheme using a fractional-order discrete-time chaotic system. A modified-Hénon system of fractional-order is considered as a transmitter to this scheme, whereas a fractional-order step-by-step observer is considered as the receiver. This transmission scheme ensures perfect synchronization and, consequently, perfect retrieval of system states. The watermark insertion technique inside our fractional-order chaotic system’s dynamics is done by inclusion; the new encrypted image serves as watermark to a selected image. The watermarking of the cipher is realized through the application of a watermarking algorithm in DWT domain, then extracted and decrypted at the receiver level. Some results of simulation are given to prove that our approach is applicable and robust.
