摘要
The Cover Feature illustrates that copper and magnesium can form mixed metal hydroxycarbonate catalyst precursors, either as Cu-rich malachites or amorphous georgeites in case of higher Mg shares. In their Research Article, M. Behrens and co-workers study the formation of these precursors by co-precipitation and their crystallinity as a function of the Mg content. Cu/MgO catalysts prepared from these hydroxycarbonates are very efficient in CO hydrogenation which can be coupled with the reverse water–gas shift (rWGS) reaction in order to convert CO2 to methanol. This is a promising process in future energy scenarios that is studied in the DFG priority programme SPP 2080 “Catalysts and reactors under dynamic conditions for energy storage and conversion”. More information can be found in the Research Article by M. Behrens and co-workers.
