摘要
Water availability is a growing problem worldwide and represents a big challenge for current and future generations. The population growth results in increased water scarcity due to human, industrial, and agricultural water requests. Water pollution leads also to serious damage to people's livelihood. Humanitarian engineering tries to find solutions and implement nonconventional treatment approaches to improve wastewater treatments. This chapter presents modular water treatments as an option to overcome the shortage in water supply in the context of humanitarian engineering. The convenience, characteristics, and efficiency of some modular wastewater treatment units are discussed.
