Iridium–aluminium trichloride co-catalysed hydroformylation–acetalization of olefins with H₂O as the hydrogen source

In the tandem hydroformylation–acetalization catalyzed by an Ir-catalyst, water as the hydrogen source can inhibit the hydrogenation of olefins, and a catalytic amount of AlCl3 as a promoter can promote acetalization.
