Palladium‐Catalyzed Asymmetric [4+3] Cycloadditions of Indene‐2‐carbaldehydes with 4‐Vinylbenzoxazinanones Toward Polycyclic 5 H ‐Benzo[ b ]azepines

Abstract Palladium‐catalyzed asymmetric [4+3] cycloadditions of indene‐2‐carbaldehydes and 4‐vinyl benzoxazinanones proceeded smoothly in the presence of chiral phosphine ligands to give the corresponding functionalized 5 H ‐benzo[ b ]azepines (26 examples, 60% to 89% yield, 88:12 to 95.5:4.5 er) under mild conditions. magnified image
