Health security and strengthening health systems

Undoubtedly, health systems worldwide were exposed as inadequate and flawed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, from insufficient funding to appalling conditions for doctors, nurses, and other paramedics, the global pandemic has represented a key indicator for modern civilization to invest more in health and less, perhaps, in other areas of public expenditure. In the same way, all sectors, from education and environment to culture to defense to infrastructure, can, by investing in intelligent ways, help to contribute to public health.
